TotalEnergies EP Uganda is seeking an experienced and dedicated professional to join our team as an Area Leader for the Water Treatment Unit. This is a regular, full-time position based in Uganda, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to one of the country's most significant energy projects while advancing your career with a global industry leader.
As the Area Leader β Water Treatment Unit, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of water treatment operations within our Ugandan facilities. You will ensure the efficient, safe, and environmentally compliant treatment of water used in our processes, playing a critical role in our sustainable operations.
Key Responsibilities:
β’ Lead and manage the daily operations of the Water Treatment Unit, ensuring compliance with TotalEnergies' safety standards and Ugandan environmental regulations.
β’ Develop and implement operational procedures, maintenance schedules, and performance monitoring systems for water treatment equipment.
β’ Manage a team of technicians and operators, providing technical guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
β’ Oversee water quality monitoring, analysis, and reporting to ensure all treated water meets required specifications for industrial use.
β’ Coordinate with other departments (e.g., Production, HSE, Maintenance) to optimise water usage and treatment processes.
β’ Prepare budgets, manage operational costs, and identify opportunities for process improvement and cost savings.
β’ Ensure all activities adhere to the company's policies on health, safety, and environment (HSE).
Requirements:
β’ Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is an added advantage.
β’ Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in water treatment operations, preferably within the oil & gas, petrochemical, or heavy industrial sector.
β’ Proven experience in a leadership or supervisory role, managing technical teams.
β’ In-depth knowledge of water treatment technologies, chemistry, and Ugandan water/environmental laws.
β’ Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
β’ Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
