Oil Treatment Unit Area Leader Job at TotalEnergies EP Uganda

TotalEnergies EP Uganda, a global leader in energy production, is seeking an experienced and dedicated Area Leader for its Oil Treatment Unit (OTU) in Uganda. This is a senior-level, regular position offering a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in one of the country's most significant energy projects.

As the Area Leader – Oil Treatment Unit, you will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the OTU facilities. You will lead a team of technicians and engineers, ensuring all activities comply with TotalEnergies' stringent safety standards, environmental regulations, and operational excellence protocols.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage the daily operations and maintenance activities of the Oil Treatment Unit.
• Ensure strict adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures, fostering a culture of zero incidents.
• Optimise plant performance, production efficiency, and product quality.
• Develop and manage the unit's operating budget, including cost control and resource planning.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of Ugandan national staff.
• Coordinate with other departments (maintenance, logistics, planning) to ensure seamless integrated operations.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives and best practices within the unit.
• Prepare and review technical reports, operational procedures, and performance dashboards.

Requirements & Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is an added advantage.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in oil and gas production operations, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or leadership role within a treatment facility (e.g., CPF, OTU).
• In-depth knowledge of process safety management, operational risk assessment, and hydrocarbon processing.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making capabilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience working in a multicultural environment; prior experience in Uganda or East Africa is beneficial.
