Oil Treatment Unit Area Leader Job at TotalEnergies Uganda | Senior Engineering Role

TotalEnergies EP Uganda is seeking an experienced and dedicated Area Leader for its Oil Treatment Unit (OTU) operations in Uganda. This is a regular, full-time position offering a unique opportunity to contribute to Uganda's growing oil and gas sector.

As the Area Leader – Oil Treatment Unit, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the OTU facilities. You will be responsible for leading a team of technicians and engineers, overseeing daily operations, and implementing best practices in process safety and environmental compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and supervise the daily operations and maintenance activities of the Oil Treatment Unit.
• Ensure strict adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards and TotalEnergies' Golden Rules.
• Manage a team of operations personnel, including scheduling, training, and performance management.
• Optimise plant performance, monitor process parameters, and implement efficiency improvements.
• Coordinate with maintenance, engineering, and other departments to ensure seamless plant operations.
• Prepare and review operational reports, manage budgets, and ensure compliance with Ugandan regulations.
• Lead troubleshooting efforts and incident investigations to resolve operational issues.

Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in oil and gas production operations, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Proven experience in oil treatment, separation, or processing facilities is essential.
• Strong knowledge of process safety management (PSM) and operational risk assessment.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with Ugandan oil and gas regulations and standards is a strong advantage.
