Hima Cement Limited, a leading manufacturer in Uganda's construction industry, is seeking a skilled Automation Engineer to join their dynamic team in Kampala. As an Automation Engineer at Hima Cement, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining automated control systems to ensure efficient and reliable plant operations. You will work with cutting-edge technology in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, program, and troubleshoot PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) and SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems.
• Implement automation solutions to improve plant efficiency, safety, and product quality.
• Conduct regular maintenance and upgrades of existing automation hardware and software.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including maintenance, production, and IT to achieve operational targets.
• Develop and maintain detailed documentation for control systems and standard operating procedures.
• Provide technical support and training to plant personnel on automated systems.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in automation, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Proven expertise in PLC programming (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or similar) and SCADA systems.
• Strong understanding of instrumentation, control networks, and industrial communication protocols.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
• A valid driver's licence is an added advantage.
