Senior Airworthiness Inspector (Avionics) Job at Civil Aviation Authority Uganda in Entebbe

Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA) is seeking a qualified and experienced Senior Airworthiness Inspector (Avionics) to join their team in Entebbe. This is a senior-level role responsible for ensuring the highest standards of aviation safety and regulatory compliance in Uganda's civil aviation sector.

About Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA):
UCAA is Uganda's national body responsible for regulating civil aviation. The Authority manages Entebbe International Airport and thirteen other aerodromes across the country, adhering strictly to International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs).

Key Responsibilities & Duties:
• Conducting inspections and surveillance of aircraft avionics systems to ensure airworthiness.
• Reviewing and approving maintenance programmes, modifications, and repairs related to aircraft avionics.
• Ensuring compliance with national regulations and international (ICAO) standards.
• Investigating reported incidents and defects involving aircraft avionics equipment.
• Providing technical guidance and oversight to aviation operators and maintenance organisations.
• Preparing detailed reports and documentation on inspection findings.
• Contributing to the development and implementation of aviation safety policies.

Requirements & Qualifications:
• A Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Avionics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Advanced certifications are an advantage.
• Extensive proven experience in aircraft avionics maintenance, inspection, or regulation, preferably within a civil aviation authority.
• In-depth knowledge of ICAO SARPs, aviation regulations, and airworthiness procedures.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• High level of integrity, professionalism, and commitment to safety.
• Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
• Must be a Ugandan citizen of impeccable integrity.
