Technical Officer - Capacity Building & Sustainability Reporting Jobs in Kampala, Uganda
Job Description
The Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development (MoFPED) is seeking qualified and experienced Technical Officers to join our team in Kampala. This is a critical role focused on enhancing institutional capacity and driving sustainability reporting initiatives within Uganda's public finance sector.
As a Technical Officer, you will play a key role in strengthening systems, building the skills of government personnel, and ensuring transparent reporting on sustainable development goals and economic planning outcomes. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute directly to national development and economic transformation.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
- Develop and implement comprehensive capacity-building programmes for ministry staff and partner agencies.
- Design training materials, manuals, and tools focused on public financial management, planning, and sustainability reporting.
- Lead the preparation, analysis, and submission of high-quality sustainability and development reports in line with national and international frameworks.
- Provide technical guidance and support to various departments on integrating sustainability principles into planning and budgeting processes.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of capacity-building interventions and report on outcomes.
- Foster partnerships with relevant stakeholders, including other government ministries, development partners, and civil society.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Economics, Statistics, Development Studies, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree will be an added advantage.
- Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in capacity building, training, or sustainability reporting, preferably within the public sector or with development organisations in Uganda.
- Strong understanding of Uganda's national development planning framework (e.g., NDP III) and sustainability reporting standards.
- Excellent analytical, report-writing, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and data analysis software.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to public service.
