Compassion International, a leading Christian child development organisation, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our Human Resources team in Kampala, Uganda. This is a vital role where you will help us find passionate professionals who are committed to releasing children from poverty in Jesus' name.
About the Role
As a Talent Acquisition Specialist, you will manage the complete recruitment cycle for assigned positions across our Uganda office. You will be the key link between talented candidates and our mission-driven teams, ensuring a smooth, professional, and positive hiring experience for all.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Manage the full-cycle recruitment process for various roles within the Uganda office.
- Partner closely with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and develop accurate job descriptions.
- Source potential candidates through multiple channels, including online job boards, social media, professional networks, and local referrals.
- Screen applications, conduct initial interviews, and coordinate the selection process.
- Ensure a positive and respectful candidate experience from application to onboarding.
- Maintain and update our applicant tracking system (ATS) with accuracy and compliance.
- Uphold Compassion's mission, values, and Christian ethos throughout the recruitment process.
- Ensure all hiring practices comply with Ugandan employment laws and regulations.
- Support the broader talent acquisition strategy and employer branding initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience Required
- A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of proven experience in talent acquisition, recruitment, or HR in Uganda.
- Strong knowledge of Ugandan labour laws and recruitment best practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
- Proficiency in using HR software, applicant tracking systems (ATS), and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Previous experience in the NGO or non-profit sector is a significant advantage.
