About the Role

As a Sponsorship Communications Specialist, you will be the heartbeat of our sponsorship programme, ensuring heartfelt and timely communication flows between sponsors and beneficiaries. You will manage the entire workflow for child letters, photos, and updates, guaranteeing quality and preserving the emotional integrity of every interaction. This position is based in our Kampala office and involves collaboration with local church partners and field staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end sponsorship communications workflow, ensuring timely collection and processing.
• Oversee the translation, quality assurance, and integrity of all child letters, photos, and updates.
• Train, support, and build the capacity of our local church partners and field staff in communication protocols.
• Utilise and maintain data within the organisation's database systems accurately.
• Prepare regular reports on sponsorship communications activities and outcomes.
• Uphold the highest standards of child protection in all communications and processes.

Requirements & Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Communications, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Social Work, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in community development, child-focused programming, or communications, preferably with an NGO or INGO.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English and at least one local Ugandan language (e.g., Luganda, Runyankole, Lusoga).
• Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural skills to work effectively with diverse teams and communities.
• High attention to detail, organisational skills, and proficiency with computers and database systems.
• A demonstrated commitment to child protection and the mission of Compassion International.
