Senior Assessment Officer Job Opportunity in Uganda

IMPACT Initiatives is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Assessment Officer to join our team in Kampala, Uganda. This is a senior-level position for a professional passionate about humanitarian research, data analysis, and evidence-based decision-making in the Ugandan context.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of humanitarian assessments and research cycles across Uganda
• Manage assessment teams and ensure high-quality data collection, analysis, and reporting
• Develop assessment methodologies and tools tailored to the Ugandan operational context
• Coordinate with humanitarian partners, government agencies, and local stakeholders
• Produce analytical reports, dashboards, and information products for decision-makers
• Ensure all assessment activities adhere to ethical standards and humanitarian principles
• Build capacity of national staff and partners in assessment methodologies

Requirements & Qualifications

• Master's degree in relevant field (Development Studies, Statistics, Social Sciences, or related)
• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in humanitarian assessment, monitoring & evaluation
• Proven experience managing assessment teams in Uganda or similar contexts
• Strong expertise in quantitative and qualitative research methodologies
• Excellent analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis software (SPSS, R, or similar)
• Fluency in English (written and spoken); knowledge of local Ugandan languages is an advantage
• Demonstrated understanding of Uganda's humanitarian and development landscape
• Ability to work effectively in multicultural teams and high-pressure environments
