Short-Term Housekeeper Job in Garowe, Somalia - 5 Month Contract

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is seeking a dedicated and professional Housekeeper for a short-term 5-month assignment at their Garowe (GAR) office in Somalia. About the Role:

This fixed-term contract position is crucial for maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and order within the ICRC premises. You will play a key support role in the administration and facilities team, ensuring a safe and pleasant working environment for all staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform daily cleaning and maintenance of offices, common areas, and facilities.
• Ensure proper waste disposal and adherence to hygiene protocols.
• Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and report any shortages.
• Assist with basic laundry and linen services as required.
• Follow all ICRC safety and security guidelines while on duty.
• Support the team with other ad-hoc administrative tasks.

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Proven experience in housekeeping, cleaning, or facility maintenance.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multicultural team.
• Good physical fitness for manual tasks.
• Willingness to work in a humanitarian context in Somalia.
• Previous experience with international NGOs is an advantage.
