Senior Remedial Manager - Credit Risk & Recoveries Job Opportunity

NCBA Bank Uganda Limited is seeking an experienced and results-driven Senior Manager for Remedial & Recoveries to join our Credit Risk Management team in Kampala. This is a senior-level position ideal for banking professionals with extensive experience in managing non-performing loans and leading recovery strategies within Uganda's competitive financial sector.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

• Develop and implement effective remedial management strategies and recovery plans for non-performing assets
• Lead the bank's recoveries function to maximise collections and minimise credit losses
• Manage a portfolio of distressed accounts and oversee the end-to-end recovery process
• Analyse credit risk data to identify trends and recommend preventive measures
• Coordinate with legal teams and external agencies on recovery proceedings
• Prepare comprehensive reports on recovery performance for senior management
• Ensure compliance with Bank of Uganda regulations and internal credit policies
• Mentor and develop junior staff within the remedial and recoveries team

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Commerce, or related field (Master's preferred)
• Minimum 7 years of experience in banking, with at least 4 years in remedial management, credit risk, or recoveries
• Proven track record of successful debt recovery in the Ugandan banking sector
• Strong knowledge of Uganda's legal framework for debt recovery and insolvency
• Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Leadership experience with ability to manage teams effectively
• Professional certification in credit management or related field is an advantage
