Senior Manager, Country Program - Catholic Relief Services Uganda

Catholic Relief Services (CRS) Uganda is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior Manager for its Country Program in Kampala. This is a senior leadership role where you will provide strategic direction and oversee high-quality programming serving vulnerable communities across Uganda. You will be a key member of the Senior Management Team, ensuring program impact, managing security, and leading a dedicated team.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

• Provide strategic leadership for the development, implementation, and consolidation of all country program activities.
• Ensure program quality through robust monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning (MEAL) systems and staff development.
• Lead talent management, supervision, and coaching for program staff, fostering a positive team environment.
• Oversee the design and development of high-quality funding proposals for major donors like USAID, DFID, and UN agencies.
• Manage and steward project budgets and resources efficiently, ensuring compliance with donor and agency standards.
• Build and strengthen strategic partnerships with local organisations, government bodies, donors, and other stakeholders.
• Represent CRS Uganda with donors, international organisations, and peer agencies.
• Proactively manage security protocols and mitigate risks to staff and operations.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

• Master's degree in International Development, International Relations, or a relevant field.
• Minimum of 5 years of field-based program management experience with an international NGO, including at least 3 years managing complex projects.
• Proven experience in staff management, mentoring, and capacity building.
• Strong experience in budget management, proposal writing, and program monitoring & evaluation.
• Demonstrated experience engaging with partner organisations and managing donor relations (experience with USG, USAID, DFID, UN preferred).
• Excellent strategic, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Fluency in English with exceptional written and oral communication skills.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 30% within Uganda and potentially regionally.
