World Vision International, a global Christian humanitarian organisation with over 70 years of experience, is seeking a dedicated and strategic leader for the role of Senior Manager, Program Quality and Impact in Kampala, Uganda. This is a key leadership position for a professional passionate about creating sustainable change for the most vulnerable children in Uganda.
About the Role
As the Senior Manager, you will provide strategic leadership in the Design, Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (DMEL) of World Vision Uganda's programmes. You will ensure our programmes are evidence-based, aligned with global standards, and deliver measurable, sustainable impact. You will lead a team of DMEL specialists and collaborate with programme teams across the country to enhance quality, accountability, and organisational learning.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Provide strategic leadership and direction for all DMEL activities across World Vision Uganda.
- Develop, implement, and oversee robust DMEL frameworks, tools, and data management systems.
- Lead and manage a team of DMEL specialists, fostering their professional growth.
- Oversee the design and execution of baseline studies, evaluations, and operational research.
- Ensure the highest standards of data quality and promote its use for strategic decision-making and reporting.
- Foster a strong culture of learning, continuous improvement, and accountability within the organisation.
- Represent World Vision Uganda in national and international DMEL forums, networks, and with key stakeholders.
- Ensure all programmes contribute effectively to the wellbeing of vulnerable children, in line with our mission and vision.
Qualifications and Experience Required
- A Master's degree in Monitoring and Evaluation, Statistics, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in DMEL, preferably within the NGO or development sector in Uganda or the East Africa region.
- Proven strong leadership and team management skills with experience leading technical teams.
- Excellent analytical, data interpretation, and high-quality report-writing skills.
- High proficiency in DMEL software (e.g., SPSS, STATA, NVivo) and data analysis tools.
- Demonstrated commitment to World Vision's Christian faith-based mission, vision, and core values.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
