Lead Transformative Change for Uganda's Children
World Vision International, a global Christian humanitarian organisation with over 70 years of experience, is seeking a passionate and strategic leader for the role of Senior Manager, Advocacy and Justice for Children in Kampala. This is a pivotal leadership position for a professional dedicated to overcoming poverty and ensuring the most vulnerable children in Uganda experience fullness of life.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
You will provide strategic leadership to advance child rights and protection in Uganda. Your core duties will include:
- Developing and implementing high-impact national advocacy strategies aligned with World Vision's global and local priorities.
- Building and nurturing strategic partnerships with government ministries, civil society organisations, donors, and other key stakeholders in Uganda's development sector.
- Influencing national policy, legislation, and practice to promote justice and protection for children.
- Leading advocacy campaigns and initiatives that amplify the voices of vulnerable children.
- Providing technical guidance and leadership to the team on child rights programming and advocacy.
- Representing World Vision at high-level national forums, meetings, and with media on issues of child advocacy and justice.
Qualifications & Experience Required
- A Master's degree in Social Sciences, Law, International Development, Public Policy, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in advocacy, policy influencing, or child rights programming, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- A proven track record of successfully influencing policy and practice at national and international levels.
- Strong understanding of Uganda's child rights legal frameworks, justice system, and the national development context.
- Excellent communication, networking, negotiation, and public representation skills.
- Commitment to World Vision's Christian ethos and values.
