Diageo, a global leader in premium drinks, is seeking a seasoned Senior Manager, Corporate Relations to join our team in Kampala, Uganda. This is a senior leadership role for a communications professional ready to shape and protect the reputation of one of the world's most respected companies in the Ugandan market.

About the Role

As the Senior Manager for Corporate Relations, you will be the strategic architect behind Diageo's public image and stakeholder engagement in Uganda. You will develop and execute comprehensive corporate relations strategies that enhance our brand reputation, manage critical communications, and foster strong relationships with media, government, and community stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Develop and implement a robust corporate relations and communications strategy aligned with Diageo's business goals in Uganda.
• Lead all media relations activities, including acting as a company spokesperson, managing press inquiries, and cultivating strong relationships with Ugandan media houses.
• Oversee corporate communications, including internal communications, crisis management, and sustainability reporting.
• Drive public affairs initiatives and maintain a strong network with key government stakeholders and regulatory bodies in Kampala and across Uganda.
• Protect and enhance Diageo's reputation as a responsible business and employer of choice in Uganda.
• Manage budgets and provide strategic counsel to senior leadership on all corporate relations matters.

Requirements & Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field from a recognised institution.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in corporate relations, communications, or public affairs, preferably within a multinational corporation or leading Ugandan organisation.
• Proven, strong network with Ugandan media, government officials, and key industry stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to craft compelling narratives for diverse audiences.
• Demonstrated experience in crisis communications and reputation management.
• Strategic thinker with strong leadership and influencing skills.
