Senior Manager, Corporate Relations Job Opportunity at Diageo Uganda

Diageo, a global leader in premium drinks, is seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Manager for Corporate Relations to join our team in Kampala, Uganda. This is a senior leadership role where you will be responsible for shaping and protecting Diageo's reputation and fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders across Uganda.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Develop and execute comprehensive corporate relations and communications strategies for Diageo in Uganda.
• Lead media relations, including building and maintaining strong networks with Ugandan journalists, editors, and media houses.
• Manage corporate communications, including press releases, statements, and internal communications aligned with our brand values.
• Oversee public affairs initiatives and engage with government stakeholders, industry bodies, and community leaders.
• Act as a key spokesperson and advisor on issues affecting Diageo's reputation and licence to operate in Uganda.
• Monitor the media landscape and public policy environment for opportunities and risks.
• Plan and manage corporate events and sustainability programme communications.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of proven experience in corporate relations, communications, or public affairs, preferably within a large multinational or leading Ugandan organisation.
• Established and strong network with Ugandan media and government stakeholders is essential.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Strong strategic thinking, crisis management, and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
• Understanding of the Ugandan business, social, and regulatory environment.
