This is a senior-level role for a professional passionate about safeguarding critical digital infrastructure in Uganda's evolving technological landscape.

About the Role

As an IT Security Specialist at MTN Uganda, you will be at the forefront of protecting our network, systems, and customer data from cyber threats. You will implement robust security measures and respond to incidents to ensure the integrity and continuity of our services across Uganda.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Implement, monitor, and maintain advanced IT security systems and protocols.
• Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.
• Lead incident response activities and manage security breaches.
• Develop, update, and enforce IT security policies and procedures.
• Provide security awareness training to staff.
• Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity threats and trends relevant to the Ugandan and regional context.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations and international cybersecurity frameworks.

Requirements & Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field from a recognised institution.
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in IT security, preferably within telecommunications, banking, or a large corporate in Uganda.
• Professional certification such as CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) or CISM (Certified Information Security Manager) is mandatory.
• In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST).
• Proven experience in security monitoring, vulnerability management, and incident response.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
