Key Responsibilities

• Implement, monitor, and maintain robust cybersecurity measures for Airtel Uganda's network and digital systems.
• Manage and configure network security tools, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and vulnerability scanners.
• Ensure compliance with telecom security standards, Ugandan data protection regulations, and international best practices.
• Conduct regular security assessments, risk analyses, and penetration testing to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities.
• Develop and enforce IT security policies, procedures, and incident response plans.
• Investigate security breaches and coordinate effective response and recovery efforts.
• Provide cybersecurity awareness training to staff and promote a culture of security within the organisation.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field from a recognised institution.
• Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in IT security, network security, or a similar role.
• Professional certifications such as CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) or CISM (Certified Information Security Manager) are highly preferred.
• Proven experience with network security architecture, firewall administration, and intrusion detection systems.
• Strong knowledge of telecom security frameworks and Uganda's data protection and privacy laws.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
