About the Role

As an Associate Information Management Officer at UNHCR Uganda, you will play a crucial role in supporting data-driven decision-making for refugee assistance and protection programmes across the country. You will work closely with various units to ensure accurate information flows that directly impact humanitarian operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain effective data collection and management systems for UNHCR Uganda operations.
• Ensure high data quality, integrity, and protection standards are met in accordance with organisational guidelines.
• Support data analysis, reporting, and the production of information products for programme planning and monitoring.
• Work with different units to identify their information needs and develop appropriate data collection tools.
• Contribute to capacity building of UNHCR staff and partner organisations on proper data management practices.
• Promote and implement data protection standards throughout all information management activities.

Requirements and Qualifications

• University degree in Information Technology, Demography, Statistics, Social Sciences, or a related field from a recognised institution.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience in data/statistical analysis, information management, or related areas.
• Proven experience with data collection and analysis software (Excel, Access, R, SPSS, ArcGIS, or similar tools).
• Knowledge of UNHCR data standards and protection guidelines will be a significant advantage.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a multicultural environment.
• Fluency in English (both written and spoken) is required.
