Senior Manager, Health Financing Job Opportunity at PATH Uganda

PATH Uganda is seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Manager, Health Financing to join our Kampala team. This is a senior-level position for a professional passionate about achieving health equity through sustainable financing solutions within Uganda's health system.

With over 40 years of experience, we forge multisector partnerships and leverage expertise in science, economics, and advocacy to develop innovative solutions to the world's most pressing health challenges. In Uganda, we work closely with the Ministry of Health and other partners to strengthen health systems.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

• Provide technical leadership and oversight for all health financing activities in Uganda.
• Design and implement strategies to improve sustainable financing for health programmes.
• Engage with government bodies, including the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Finance, to advocate for increased health budgets and efficient resource allocation.
• Conduct in-depth financial analyses and develop compelling business cases for health investments.
• Build the capacity of local organisations and partners in health financing and resource mobilisation.
• Monitor, evaluate, and report on the impact of health financing interventions to donors and stakeholders.
• Foster collaborative relationships with diverse development partners and stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

• Master’s degree in Health Economics, Public Health, Finance, or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in health financing, health economics, or public financial management.
• Strong and proven understanding of Uganda’s health system structure and financing landscape.
• Demonstrated experience in high-level engagement with Ugandan government agencies and development partners.
• Excellent analytical, report writing, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as an effective team member.
