Job Description

PATH Uganda is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer to join our dynamic team in Kampala. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated professional to contribute to impactful health programmes across Uganda. As a leading global health organisation, PATH is committed to improving public health outcomes, and our M&E team plays a critical role in measuring success and driving programme improvement.

In this senior-level role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing robust M&E systems for our health programmes. You will work closely with programme teams to ensure data-driven decision-making and demonstrate the tangible impact of our work. This position is ideal for someone passionate about data, public health, and making a difference in communities across Uganda.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive M&E frameworks and plans for PATH Uganda's health programmes.
  • Design effective data collection tools, systems, and methodologies for routine programme monitoring and evaluation.
  • Conduct advanced quantitative and qualitative data analysis using statistical software.
  • Prepare detailed and insightful reports for both internal stakeholders and external partners, including donors.
  • Build the capacity of programme staff in M&E best practices, data utilisation, and reporting.
  • Ensure the highest standards of data quality and integrity through regular audits, validation, and supportive supervision.
  • Lead the documentation of programme successes, key challenges, and lessons learned to inform future programming.
  • Collaborate effectively with Uganda's health management information systems (HMIS) and other relevant government structures.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Public Health, Social Sciences, Demography, or a related field. A Master's degree is strongly preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of proven, hands-on experience in monitoring and evaluation, specifically within the health sector in Uganda.
  • Strong technical proficiency in statistical software packages such as SPSS, Stata, or R, and data visualisation tools.
  • Demonstrable experience working with and understanding of Uganda's Health Management Information System (HMIS).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to present complex data clearly.

How to Apply:
Interested and qualified candidates should submit their application via the official PATH careers portal before the deadline. Ensure your application highlights your relevant M&E experience in Uganda's health sector.
