Job Description
PATH Uganda is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer to join our dynamic team in Kampala. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated professional to contribute to impactful health programmes across Uganda. In this senior-level role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing robust M&E systems for our health programmes. You will work closely with programme teams to ensure data-driven decision-making and demonstrate the tangible impact of our work. This position is ideal for someone passionate about data, public health, and making a difference in communities across Uganda.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive M&E frameworks and plans for PATH Uganda's health programmes.
- Design effective data collection tools, systems, and methodologies for routine programme monitoring and evaluation.
- Conduct advanced quantitative and qualitative data analysis using statistical software.
- Prepare detailed and insightful reports for both internal stakeholders and external partners, including donors.
- Build the capacity of programme staff in M&E best practices, data utilisation, and reporting.
- Ensure the highest standards of data quality and integrity through regular audits, validation, and supportive supervision.
- Lead the documentation of programme successes, key challenges, and lessons learned to inform future programming.
- Collaborate effectively with Uganda's health management information systems (HMIS) and other relevant government structures.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
- A Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Public Health, Social Sciences, Demography, or a related field. A Master's degree is strongly preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of proven, hands-on experience in monitoring and evaluation, specifically within the health sector in Uganda.
- Strong technical proficiency in statistical software packages such as SPSS, Stata, or R, and data visualisation tools.
- Demonstrable experience working with and understanding of Uganda's Health Management Information System (HMIS).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to present complex data clearly.
