Pharmacy Dispenser Job in Bunga, Kampala - C-Care Uganda

Job Summary

As a Dispenser at C-Care Uganda, you will play a crucial role in our pharmacy operations. You will be responsible for the accurate preparation, documentation, and dispensing of medications and medical supplies to both hospital units and direct clients. Your professional demeanour and excellent communication skills will ensure patients receive proper counselling, leading to improved treatment adherence and health outcomes.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Accurately prepare and dispense prescribed drugs and medical supplies to patients and hospital departments.
• Maintain meticulous documentation and records of all dispensed items in accordance with regulatory standards.
• Provide clear, empathetic, and accurate counselling to patients on medication usage, dosage, and potential side effects.
• Ensure proper storage and inventory management of pharmaceuticals and supplies in the dispensary.
• Collaborate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
• Adhere to all safety protocols, ethical guidelines, and standard operating procedures.
• Participate in stock-taking and ordering processes to prevent shortages or expiries.

Requirements and Qualifications

• A recognised Diploma in Pharmacy or a related field from a recognised institution.
• Must be registered with the Allied Health Professionals Council of Uganda.
• Proven experience working as a dispenser or pharmacy technician in a hospital or clinic setting is a strong advantage.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and patient-centred approach.
• Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to work accurately under pressure.
• Integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.
• Knowledge of current pharmacy practices and Ugandan medicine regulations.
