Health and Nutrition Coordinator Job in Mbale, Uganda - World Vision

World Vision International Uganda is seeking a dedicated and experienced Health and Nutrition Coordinator to join our team in Mbale, Eastern Uganda. This is a senior-level opportunity to lead integrated health, nutrition, and WASH programmes that directly improve the well-being of vulnerable children and families in Uganda.

In this critical role, you will coordinate and oversee the planning, implementation, and monitoring of our life-saving projects. You will work closely with government health departments, community structures, and other partners to strengthen health systems and deliver sustainable outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate the planning, implementation, and monitoring of integrated health and nutrition projects in Eastern Uganda.
• Provide expert technical guidance on maternal, newborn, and child health (MNCH) and nutrition interventions.
• Strengthen partnerships with District Health Offices, community leaders, and other key stakeholders.
• Lead capacity-building initiatives for government health workers and community volunteers.
• Prepare high-quality donor reports (e.g., for USAID, EU) and ensure strict programme accountability and compliance.
• Monitor project performance against national health policies and guidelines.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

• A Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Nutrition, Nursing, or a related field. A Master's degree is a strong advantage.
• Minimum of 7 years of proven experience in health and nutrition programming, with significant experience in the Ugandan context.
• In-depth knowledge of Uganda's national health policies, strategies, and guidelines.
• Demonstrated experience in project cycle management and donor reporting for major institutional donors.
• Excellent interpersonal, training, and facilitation skills.
• Strong commitment to World Vision's mission and Christian values.
