Job Summary
As a Dispenser at C-Care IMC Bunga, you will play a crucial role in our pharmacy operations. You will be responsible for the accurate preparation, documentation, and dispensing of medications and medical supplies to both hospital units and outpatients. Your professional demeanour and clear communication will be essential in counselling patients to ensure they understand their treatment, thereby improving adherence and health outcomes.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Accurately interpret and dispense prescriptions as directed by medical officers.
• Prepare and label pharmaceutical products correctly for inpatient and outpatient use.
• Maintain meticulous records of all drugs dispensed, received, and stored.
• Provide clear, empathetic, and accurate counselling to patients on medication dosage, side effects, and storage.
• Manage pharmacy inventory, including stock-taking, ordering, and ensuring proper storage conditions.
• Dispense medical supplies to other hospital departments as required.
• Uphold the highest standards of professionalism, ethics, and patient confidentiality.
• Collaborate effectively with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare staff.

Requirements & Qualifications

• A recognised Diploma in Pharmacy or a related field from a reputable institution.
• Must be registered with the Allied Health Professionals Council of Uganda.
• Proven experience working as a dispenser or pharmacy technician in a hospital or clinic setting is preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong patient-centred approach.
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and organisational skills.
• Good knowledge of medical terminology and common pharmaceuticals.
• Integrity and a strong ethical work ethic.
