Pharmacy Dispenser Job at C-Care Uganda Hospital in Mukono

Job Summary:
As a Dispenser at C-Care Uganda, you will play a crucial role in the healthcare delivery process. Your primary responsibility will be to participate in the preparation, documentation, and accurate dispensing of medications and medical supplies to various hospital units and directly to patients. You will ensure all services are delivered with professionalism, empathy, and clear communication to support patient understanding and adherence to treatment plans.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
• Prepare and dispense prescribed drugs and medical supplies accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain proper documentation and records of all dispensed medications in accordance with hospital and national regulations.
• Provide clear and empathetic counselling to patients on medication usage, dosage, and potential side effects.
• Collaborate with doctors, nurses, and other hospital staff to ensure seamless patient care.
• Manage pharmacy inventory, including stock-taking and ordering to prevent shortages.
• Ensure the pharmacy area is clean, organised, and complies with all health and safety standards.
• Participate in continuous professional development and training as required by C-Care Uganda.

Requirements and Qualifications:
• A recognised Diploma in Pharmacy or a related field from a recognised institution.
• Must be registered with the Allied Health Professionals Council of Uganda.
• Proven experience working as a dispenser or pharmacy technician in a hospital or clinic setting is an advantage.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong patient-centred approach.
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and integrity.
• Good knowledge of medical terminology and common pharmaceuticals.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and under pressure.
