Job Description

Program Manager - Health Job at Catholic Relief Services (CRS) Uganda

Catholic Relief Services (CRS) Uganda is seeking a dedicated and experienced Program Manager - Health to join our team in Kampala. This is a senior-level opportunity to provide strategic technical leadership and ensure the delivery of high-quality health programming that serves the poor and vulnerable across Uganda and the globe.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Provide expert technical guidance and support for the design, planning, and implementation of health programmes, ensuring adherence to CRS quality standards and donor requirements.
  • Lead and contribute to the development of competitive project proposals and concept notes for health sector funding.
  • Strengthen partnerships with local and international organisations, government bodies, and other stakeholders relevant to public health in Uganda.
  • Design and implement capacity strengthening initiatives for staff and partners through training, mentoring, and coaching.
  • Oversee programme monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) to measure impact, capture best practices, and ensure accountability.
  • Represent CRS in national health forums and maintain productive relationships with donors and peer organisations.

Qualifications & Experience Required:

  • Master’s Degree in Public Health, International Development, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant international experience in a health programme advisory or management role, with at least 3 years specifically in health programming.
  • Proven experience in business development, proposal writing, and project design for the health sector.
  • Strong experience in staff and partner capacity building, adult learning, and facilitation.
  • Excellent skills in programme monitoring, evaluation, and data analysis.
  • High proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and information management systems.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 30% of the time.
