Job Summary

As a Dispenser at C-Care Uganda, you will play a crucial role in our pharmacy operations. You will be responsible for the accurate preparation, documentation, and dispensing of medications and medical supplies to both hospital units and direct clients. Your professional demeanor and excellent communication skills will ensure patients receive proper counselling, improving their treatment adherence and overall health outcomes.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Accurately prepare and dispense prescribed drugs and medical supplies to patients and hospital departments.
• Maintain meticulous documentation and records of all dispensed medications in accordance with Ugandan pharmaceutical regulations.
• Provide clear, empathetic, and accurate counselling to patients on medication usage, dosage, and potential side effects.
• Manage pharmacy inventory, including stock-taking, ordering, and ensuring proper storage conditions.
• Collaborate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.
• Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety standards within the pharmacy unit.
• Handle patient enquiries professionally and maintain confidentiality at all times.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Diploma in Pharmacy or a related field from a recognised institution in Uganda.
• Registration with the Allied Health Professionals Council (Uganda) is mandatory.
• Proven experience working as a dispenser or pharmacy technician in a hospital or clinic setting is preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong focus on patient empathy.
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and organisational skills.
• Integrity and a strong understanding of professional ethics in healthcare.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
