Job Description

World Vision International Uganda is seeking a dedicated and experienced Health and Nutrition Coordinator to join our team in Mbale. This is a senior-level opportunity to lead transformative health and nutrition programmes that directly improve the lives of children, mothers, and vulnerable communities in Eastern Uganda.

In this critical role, you will coordinate and oversee the implementation of our health and nutrition interventions, ensuring they align with both World Vision's goals and Uganda's national health priorities. You will be at the forefront of creating sustainable change in the Mbale region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the coordination, planning, and implementation of comprehensive health and nutrition programmes in the Mbale region.
  • Build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with key stakeholders, including District Health Teams (DHTs), local government, community leaders, and other implementing partners.
  • Monitor and evaluate programme activities, tracking impact and outcomes to ensure effectiveness and accountability.
  • Provide hands-on technical support, mentorship, and capacity building to field staff and community health workers.
  • Prepare detailed project reports, documentation, and donor submissions in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Ensure all programmes adhere to Ministry of Health guidelines and international best practices.

What We Require:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Public Health, Human Nutrition, or a closely related field.
  • A minimum of 7 years of proven experience in managing health and nutrition programming, preferably within the Ugandan context.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Ugandan health system, policies, and community-based health structures.
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Demonstrated experience working on donor-funded projects (e.g., USAID, UN, other INGOs).
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in report writing.

What We Offer:
Joining World Vision means being part of a global Christian humanitarian organisation dedicated to child well-being. We offer a meaningful career with competitive remuneration, comprehensive benefits, and the profound satisfaction of contributing to lasting community transformation. You will work in a supportive environment that values professional growth and innovation.

If you are a passionate health professional ready to take on a leadership role and make a significant impact, we encourage you to apply.
