Senior Finance Manager NGO Job in Kampala - PATH Uganda
Job Description
PATH, a leading global health non-profit organisation, is seeking a highly experienced and qualified Senior Manager, Finance to lead the financial management of its Uganda Country Program. This is a senior leadership role based in Kampala, Uganda, offering the opportunity to contribute to meaningful health equity work in the region.
As the Senior Finance Manager, you will provide strategic direction and oversight to the finance team, ensuring the highest standards of financial integrity, compliance, and reporting. You will play a critical role in supporting PATH's mission to solve the world's most pressing health challenges through robust financial stewardship.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide overall leadership and direction for the finance function of the Uganda Country Program.
- Oversee comprehensive financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting for both internal management and external donors.
- Manage grant finances, ensuring strict compliance with donor regulations (including USAID, Global Fund, etc.) and PATH global policies.
- Develop and maintain strong internal control systems to safeguard organisational assets.
- Lead, mentor, and build the capacity of the local finance team in Kampala.
- Ensure compliance with all Ugandan statutory laws and tax regulations.
- Serve as a key advisor to the Country Director and programme leads on all financial matters.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Full professional accounting qualification (CPA or ACCA).
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in financial management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven experience working with major international donors; in-depth knowledge of USAID and Global Fund rules is highly preferred.
- Substantial experience within the NGO sector or an international organisation in Uganda.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- High proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic planning abilities.
