Finance and Grants Officer Job in Gulu, Uganda - World Vision International

World Vision International Uganda is seeking a dedicated and experienced Finance and Grants Officer to join our team in Gulu. This is a critical role managing financial operations and ensuring compliance for our life-changing community programmes in Northern Uganda.

About the Role:
As a Finance and Grants Officer, you will be responsible for the financial management and grants compliance of our field programmes. You will ensure that all financial activities adhere to strict donor regulations and organisational policies, contributing directly to our mission of serving vulnerable children and communities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day financial operations for assigned programmes and grants in the Gulu region.
• Ensure full compliance with donor regulations (including USAID, EU, and other major donors) and World Vision financial policies.
• Prepare accurate and timely financial reports for both internal stakeholders and external donors.
• Monitor grant budgets, track expenditures, and analyse financial data to support informed decision-making.
• Conduct financial reviews and support audits for programmes operating in Northern Uganda.
• Collaborate with programme teams to develop budgets for new proposals and funding opportunities.
• Provide financial guidance and training to non-finance staff to enhance overall grant management.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related field from a recognised institution.
• A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in finance and grants management, preferably within the NGO sector in Uganda.
• Proven knowledge and hands-on experience with major donor funding mechanisms (e.g., USAID, EU, UN agencies).
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and integrity.
• Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA) is a strong advantage.
