Regional Finance Coordinator Job in Uganda - South and East Africa
Job Description
CESVI, an international humanitarian organisation, is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Regional Finance Coordinator to oversee financial operations across our South and East Africa programmes. This is a senior-level opportunity based in Uganda, offering a critical role in ensuring financial integrity and supporting impactful development work across the region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic financial oversight and coordination for CESVI's country programmes in South and East Africa.
- Ensure compliance with donor regulations (EU, UN, USAID, etc.), organisational policies, and national laws in Uganda and the region.
- Lead the budgeting, financial reporting, and forecasting processes for regional projects.
- Manage and mentor finance teams in country offices, building local capacity.
- Coordinate with headquarters in Italy on financial planning, audits, and treasury management.
- Conduct regular financial monitoring visits to project sites to ensure robust internal controls.
- Liaise with banks, auditors, and other key financial institutions within Uganda and the region.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional qualification (ACCA, CPA) is a strong advantage.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in financial management, preferably within the NGO or humanitarian sector in Africa.
- Proven experience managing multi-donor funds and complex budgets exceeding USD 5 million.
- In-depth knowledge of major donor financial rules and regulations.
- Excellent command of financial software and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Fluency in English is required; knowledge of Italian, French, or local languages is an asset.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the South and East Africa region.
