Finance and Grants Manager Job at World Vision International in Kampala, Uganda

World Vision International, a leading Christian humanitarian and development organisation, is seeking a highly experienced Finance and Grants Manager for its Uganda Country Office in Kampala. This is a senior-level opportunity for a finance professional passionate about improving the lives of children and families through effective stewardship of donor funds.

In this critical role, you will oversee all financial management, compliance, and reporting for grants and projects. You will ensure World Vision Uganda meets the highest standards of accountability to donors like USAID, the European Union, and UN agencies, while supporting impactful community development work across the country.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide overall leadership for financial management, budgeting, and reporting for all grants and projects.
• Ensure strict compliance with donor regulations (USAID, EU, UN, etc.) and World Vision's internal financial policies.
• Prepare and submit timely, accurate financial reports to donors and headquarters.
• Manage and strengthen financial systems and internal controls within the country office.
• Build the capacity of the finance team through coaching, training, and mentorship.
• Coordinate financial aspects with implementing partners and maintain strong donor relationships.
• Conduct financial analysis and monitoring to support strategic decision-making.

Requirements for the Role:

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. A professional certification (CPA, ACCA) is highly preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in finance and grants management, preferably within the NGO or development sector in Uganda or the East Africa region.
• Proven, in-depth knowledge of major donor financial rules and regulations.
• Strong leadership skills with experience managing a team.
• Advanced proficiency in financial management software and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Excellent analytical, organisational, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
• A genuine commitment to World Vision's Christian mission, vision, and core values.
