Job Description
PATH Uganda is seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Finance and Administration Assistant to join our team in Jinja. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional to support the critical operations of our field office, ensuring efficient financial management and smooth administrative functions.
As a Finance and Administration Assistant at PATH, you will play a key role in maintaining the financial health and operational efficiency of our Jinja office. You will report directly to the Finance Manager and be an integral part of a team dedicated to improving public health in Uganda.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
- Process payments, vouchers, and maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for the Jinja office.
- Prepare timely monthly financial reports and assist with budget tracking.
- Manage office supplies, equipment inventory, and ensure the office environment is well-maintained.
- Support local procurement processes in compliance with PATH and donor policies.
- Assist staff with travel arrangements, logistics, and accommodation bookings.
- Ensure strict adherence to PATH financial policies, procedures, and donor regulations (e.g., USAID, other international donors).
- Handle petty cash management and reconciliation.
- Provide general administrative support to the field office team.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- A minimum of a Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field from a recognised institution.
- At least 3 years of proven work experience in finance and administration, preferably within an NGO, international organisation, or corporate setting in Uganda.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting.
- Practical hands-on experience with accounting software; knowledge of QuickBooks is a strong advantage.
- Excellent organisational skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of integrity and professionalism.
