Senior Finance Manager Job in Kampala - USAID Project at PATH Uganda

PATH Uganda is seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Manager, Finance to join our team in Kampala. This is a senior leadership role responsible for the overall financial management of the USAID-funded Uganda Health Activity (UHA), a critical project aimed at improving health outcomes across Uganda.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide overall financial leadership and oversight for the USAID Uganda Health Activity project.
- Oversee all project financial aspects: budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and compliance with PATH and donor policies.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to PATH headquarters and the donor (USAID).
- Manage project cash flow and ensure adequate funds are available for all project activities.
- Supervise, mentor, and build the capacity of the project finance staff.
- Coordinate financial management and reporting with implementing partners.
- Ensure strict compliance with USAID regulations and PATH’s internal financial policies.
- Lead the preparation for and response to internal and external audits, implementing all recommendations.
- Develop, monitor, and analyse project budgets, providing regular financial insights to the Chief of Party and senior leadership.
Qualifications and Experience Required
- A Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in financial management, with significant experience on large USAID-funded projects being a strong advantage.
- In-depth knowledge and practical application of USAID rules, regulations, and financial reporting requirements.
- Proven experience managing large, complex budgets and preparing detailed financial reports for international donors.
- Excellent leadership, team management, and mentorship skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic financial planning abilities.
- High proficiency in financial management software and the Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
