Diageo, a global leader in premium drinks, is seeking a seasoned Senior Manager for Corporate Relations to join our team in Kampala, Uganda. This is a senior leadership role where you will be responsible for shaping and protecting Diageo's reputation and building strong relationships with key stakeholders across Uganda.

About the Role

As the Senior Manager, Corporate Relations, you will develop and execute strategic corporate relations plans that enhance Diageo's brand and social licence to operate in Uganda. You will be the primary point of contact for media, government, and community engagement, playing a critical role in our commitment to sustainable growth and positive societal impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive corporate relations and public affairs strategies for Uganda.
• Manage all media relations, including acting as company spokesperson and building strong relationships with Ugandan journalists and media houses.
• Lead government affairs and policy engagement, representing Diageo's interests with relevant ministries and regulatory bodies.
• Oversee community engagement programmes and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, aligning with Diageo's Society 2030: Spirit of Progress goals.
• Build and maintain a robust network with key stakeholders in Kampala and across Uganda.
• Manage communications during potential issues or crises to protect the company's reputation.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent messaging and brand alignment.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in corporate communications, public relations, or public affairs.
• Proven, strong network with Ugandan media, government officials, and community leaders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Experience in the FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) or beverage industry is a strong advantage.
• Strategic thinker with strong leadership and stakeholder management capabilities.
