Diageo, a global leader in beverage alcohol, is seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Manager for Corporate Relations to join our team in Kampala. About the Role

As the Senior Manager, Corporate Relations, you will be the key architect of Diageo's public image and stakeholder relationships in Uganda. You will develop and implement comprehensive strategies that enhance our corporate reputation, manage critical media relations, and lead our public affairs and corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives. This role places you at the forefront of representing Diageo to government bodies, media houses, and community leaders across the country.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Develop and execute a robust corporate relations strategy to protect and promote Diageo's reputation in Uganda.
• Build and maintain strong, productive relationships with key Ugandan media outlets, journalists, and influencers.
• Lead public affairs engagements and represent the company effectively with government agencies and regulatory bodies.
• Design and oversee impactful Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programmes that align with local community needs and Diageo's sustainability goals, Society 2030: Spirit of Progress.
• Manage communications during potential issues or crises to safeguard the company's brand.
• Provide strategic counsel to senior leadership on all matters related to public perception and stakeholder management.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent and positive messaging across all platforms.

Qualifications & Experience Required

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in corporate relations, public affairs, or media management, preferably within Uganda or the East African region.
• A proven track record of planning and executing successful PR and communications campaigns.
• Excellent command of both written and verbal English, with strong presentation skills.
• An established and robust network with Ugandan media, government agencies, and key community stakeholders.
• Strategic thinker with strong leadership capabilities and impeccable integrity.
