Diageo, a global leader in premium beverages, is seeking an experienced Senior Manager for Corporate Relations to join our team in Kampala, Uganda. This is a senior leadership role where you will shape and protect the reputation of one of the world's most respected FMCG companies in the Ugandan market.

About the Role

As the Senior Manager of Corporate Relations, you will be the strategic architect behind Diageo's public image and stakeholder relationships in Uganda. You will develop and execute comprehensive corporate relations strategies that enhance our brand reputation, manage media engagements, and foster positive relationships with key stakeholders across the public and private sectors.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a robust corporate relations and communications strategy for Diageo in Uganda.
• Lead all media relations activities, including press releases, interviews, and managing media inquiries.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with government agencies, industry bodies, community leaders, and other key stakeholders.
• Oversee corporate communications, including internal communications, crisis management, and public statements.
• Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on all reputation and public affairs matters.
• Monitor the media landscape and public perception, providing insights and proactive recommendations.
• Manage the corporate relations budget and team (if applicable).

Requirements & Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field. A Master's degree is an added advantage.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in corporate relations, communications, or public affairs, preferably within Uganda or the East African region.
• Proven track record in successful media relations and stakeholder management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives.
• Strong leadership capabilities and experience working in a fast-paced, multinational environment.
• Prior experience in the FMCG, beverage, or manufacturing industry is highly preferred.
• In-depth understanding of the Ugandan media, political, and social landscape.
