Senior Business Development Manager Job Opportunity at PATH Uganda
PATH Uganda is seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Manager, Business Development to join our team in Kampala. This is a senior-level role for a professional with a proven track record in securing funding from major international donors for health and development programmes in Uganda.
PATH is a global non-profit organisation dedicated to achieving health equity. With over 40 years of experience, we forge multisector partnerships and develop innovative solutions to the world's most pressing health challenges. In Uganda, we work on critical health initiatives that improve lives and strengthen systems.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Lead the end-to-end development of high-quality, winning proposals, including both technical narratives and detailed cost proposals (budgets).
- Conduct thorough donor landscape analyses to identify, track, and pursue new funding opportunities relevant to PATH's mission in Uganda and East Africa.
- Build, nurture, and maintain strong, strategic relationships with key donors and partners, including USAID, other bilateral/multilateral agencies, foundations, and private sector entities.
- Work closely with country leadership and technical teams to design compelling programme approaches and strategies for proposals.
- Ensure all proposals and donor engagements fully comply with specific donor requirements and PATH's internal policies and procedures.
- Provide leadership and guidance on business development processes within the Uganda country programme.
Qualifications and Experience Required
- A Master's degree in Public Health, International Development, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of direct, progressive experience in business development, proposal writing, and donor relations within the international development or global health sector.
- A demonstrated, verifiable track record of successfully winning competitive grants from USAID and other major donors (e.g., FCDO, EU, Global Fund, large foundations).
- Exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills, with the ability to craft persuasive narratives.
- Proven ability to thrive and lead in a fast-paced, collaborative, and deadline-driven environment.
- Strong preference for candidates with direct professional experience working in Uganda or the East African region.
