Regional Finance Coordinator Job in Uganda - South and East Africa
Job Description
CESVI is seeking a qualified and experienced Regional Finance Coordinator to oversee financial operations across our South and East Africa programmes. This is a senior-level opportunity based in Uganda for a finance professional passionate about humanitarian and development work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate all financial management, accounting, and reporting for CESVI's operations in South and East Africa.
- Ensure compliance with donor regulations (EU, UN, USAID, etc.), Ugandan national laws, and CESVI's internal financial policies.
- Lead the preparation, consolidation, and analysis of regional budgets, financial reports, and forecasts.
- Provide technical support, capacity building, and supervision to finance teams in country offices across the region.
- Manage cash flow, treasury functions, and ensure robust internal controls are in place to safeguard assets.
- Coordinate with external auditors and facilitate smooth audit processes for the region.
- Liaise with headquarters in Italy and other regional stakeholders on all financial matters.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional qualification (ACCA, CPA) is a strong advantage.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in financial management, preferably within the NGO or humanitarian sector in Africa.
- Proven experience managing multi-country or regional finance portfolios, with specific knowledge of the East African context.
- In-depth knowledge of major donor financial rules and regulations.
- Advanced proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.
- Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
- Fluency in English is required.
