Internal Control Manager - Branch Credit Operations Job in Kampala at PostBank Uganda

Are you a seasoned banking professional with expertise in credit risk and internal controls? PostBank Uganda, a leading financial institution, is seeking a highly qualified Manager of Internal Control for Branch Credit Operations to join our team in Kampala. This senior role is critical for safeguarding the bank's assets and ensuring the integrity of our credit processes across all branches.

In this key position, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring robust internal control systems specifically for branch-level credit activities. You will play a vital role in mitigating operational and credit risk, ensuring compliance with Bank of Uganda regulations, and promoting a strong control culture within the bank.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:
• Design, implement, and continuously review internal control frameworks for branch credit operations.
• Conduct regular risk assessments and control audits of credit processes at various bank branches.
• Ensure all credit operations comply with internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements set by the Bank of Uganda.
• Investigate and report on control failures, irregularities, or fraud related to credit activities.
• Train and guide branch staff on internal control procedures and best practices in credit management.
• Prepare detailed reports for senior management and the Audit Committee on the effectiveness of internal controls.
• Collaborate with the credit, risk, and audit departments to strengthen the overall control environment.

Requirements & Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CIA) is a strong advantage.
• Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in internal control, internal audit, or risk management within the banking or financial services sector in Uganda, with a focus on credit.
• In-depth knowledge of credit processes, banking regulations, and the Ugandan financial landscape.
• Strong analytical, investigative, and report-writing skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with branch staff and management.
• High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
