Diageo, a global leader in beverage alcohol, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team at the production facility in Jinja, Uganda. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a critical role in maintaining the world-class quality standards of our iconic brands, ensuring consumer safety and satisfaction across Uganda and the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct rigorous quality testing and analysis of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products at our Jinja plant.
• Monitor and audit production processes to ensure consistent adherence to quality specifications and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Maintain and enforce compliance with all relevant food safety standards, including Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS) regulations, ISO standards, and Diageo's global quality management systems.
• Investigate and document any quality deviations or non-conformances, implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Collaborate closely with production, supply, and logistics teams to foster a culture of quality excellence throughout the manufacturing process.
• Prepare detailed quality reports and maintain accurate documentation for audits and regulatory reviews.

Requirements & Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a closely related field from a recognised institution.
• A minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in a quality assurance role within the food or beverage manufacturing industry in Uganda.
• In-depth knowledge of local and international food safety standards (HACCP, GMP, ISO 22000).
• Proven experience with laboratory testing equipment and quality control methodologies.
• Exceptional attention to detail, analytical skills, and a proactive problem-solving attitude.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
