Job Description

ReliefWeb is seeking a dedicated Assessment Officer for Public Health Food Security and Livelihoods (FSLN) programmes focused on Sudan, based in our Kampala office. This is an exciting opportunity for public health professionals to contribute to humanitarian assessment work while enjoying the benefits of working from Uganda's capital city.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive public health assessments for Sudan-focused programmes
  • Analyse food security and livelihood data from conflict-affected regions
  • Coordinate with field teams to gather accurate health and nutrition information
  • Develop assessment methodologies tailored to the Sudan context
  • Prepare detailed reports on public health findings and recommendations
  • Collaborate with humanitarian partners in the region
  • Monitor and evaluate programme impact on target communities

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Nutrition, or related field
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in humanitarian assessment work
  • Strong understanding of Sudan's public health landscape
  • Experience with FSLN (Food Security and Livelihoods Nutrition) programmes
  • Excellent data analysis and report writing skills
  • Ability to work effectively in multicultural teams
  • Fluency in English (Arabic language skills advantageous)
