Programme Specialist - Women's Economic Empowerment Job at UN Women Uganda, Kampala
Job Description
UN Women Uganda is seeking a dedicated and experienced Programme Specialist for Women's Economic Empowerment to join our team in Kampala. This is a senior-level opportunity to drive meaningful change and advance gender equality through economic initiatives across Uganda.
As the Programme Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and monitoring programmes that empower women economically. You will work closely with government partners, civil society organisations, and the private sector to create sustainable opportunities for women in Uganda.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical expertise and support for the implementation of UN Women's economic empowerment initiatives in Uganda.
- Lead programme development, including design, planning, and budgeting for women's economic empowerment projects.
- Build and maintain strategic partnerships with key stakeholders, including government ministries, NGOs, and development partners.
- Conduct monitoring and evaluation of programmes to assess impact and ensure alignment with UN Women's goals.
- Advocate for gender-responsive policies and reforms that promote women's economic rights and opportunities in Uganda.
- Prepare high-quality reports, policy briefs, and analytical documents on women's economic empowerment.
- Provide capacity-building support to partners and stakeholders on gender and economic empowerment issues.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Economics, Gender Studies, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in designing and managing women's economic empowerment programmes.
- Strong knowledge of gender equality, women's rights, and the economic landscape in Uganda.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and report-writing skills.
- Proven experience in partnership building and stakeholder engagement.
- Familiarity with monitoring and evaluation frameworks for development programmes.
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural team environment.
