Monitoring and Evaluation Officer Job at World Vision International - Mbale, Uganda
Job Description
World Vision International Uganda is hiring a qualified Monitoring and Evaluation Officer to join our team in Mbale. This is a vital role focused on enhancing programme effectiveness, accountability, and evidence-based decision-making for our community development projects in the Eastern region of Uganda.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and manage comprehensive Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) systems and frameworks for assigned programmes.
- Lead data collection, management, and analysis to track programme performance and impact against set targets.
- Prepare high-quality analytical reports, dashboards, and presentations for internal management, donors, and other stakeholders.
- Support programme teams in utilising M&E findings for learning, adaptive management, and continuous improvement.
- Build capacity of field staff and partners on M&E tools, data quality assurance, and reporting standards.
- Ensure all M&E activities align with World Vision and donor requirements, as well as the Ugandan development context.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Social Sciences, Economics, Development Studies, or a related field. A postgraduate qualification is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in monitoring and evaluation, preferably within the NGO or development sector in Uganda.
- Strong technical proficiency in data analysis software such as SPSS, STATA, or similar packages.
- Excellent report writing, communication, and presentation skills.
- In-depth knowledge of the Ugandan development context, particularly in the areas of health, education, WASH, or livelihoods.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and with diverse community stakeholders.
