Monitoring and Evaluation Officer Job in Kampala - Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI)
Job Description
The Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) is a global health organisation committed to strengthening health systems and expanding access to care in Uganda and around the world. We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Monitoring and Evaluation Officer to join our team in Kampala and support our vital health programmes across the country.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement comprehensive M&E frameworks, plans, and tools for CHAI's health programmes in Uganda.
- Collect, manage, and rigorously analyse both quantitative and qualitative programme data to track performance and impact.
- Prepare and present regular, high-quality reports on programme progress, outcomes, and key learnings for internal and external stakeholders.
- Support programme teams by translating data into actionable insights for strategic decision-making and adaptive management.
- Build the M&E capacity of local government and implementing partners through training and mentorship.
- Ensure the highest standards of data quality, integrity, and security across all systems.
- Contribute to the design and execution of programme evaluations and operational research studies.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
- A Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Public Health, Economics, Social Sciences, or a related field. A Master's degree is strongly preferred.
- At least 5 years of proven professional experience in monitoring and evaluation, preferably within the public health, NGO, or development sector in Uganda.
- Strong technical skills in quantitative and qualitative data analysis.
- High proficiency in statistical software packages (e.g., Stata, R, SPSS) and data visualisation tools.
- Hands-on experience with database management and electronic data collection systems (like ODK, SurveyCTO, or similar).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to present complex data clearly.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multicultural team and collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including government officials.
- A proactive, results-oriented individual committed to improving health outcomes in Uganda.
