Job Description

Compassion International Uganda is hiring a dedicated Program Support Specialist II to join our team in Kampala. This is a fantastic mid-level opportunity for a development professional to contribute to holistic child development programmes that transform lives across Uganda.

About the Role

As a Program Support Specialist II, you will provide expert consultation and support for the implementation of our holistic child development interventions. You will work independently on moderately complex programme design issues and help strengthen our national office's impact. This role is perfect for someone with specialised knowledge looking to grow their career in the NGO sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Consult on and support the implementation of holistic child development programmes and interventions.
  • Provide highly competent knowledge in one key holistic development subspecialty while supporting others.
  • Support local programme design and implementation strategies.
  • Work independently to address moderately complex programme issues.
  • Coach and mentor other programme specialists within the team.
  • Contribute to monitoring and evaluation of programme outcomes.
  • Collaborate with local church partners and community stakeholders.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Development Studies, Community Psychology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in programme support within an NGO or development setting.
  • Proven expertise in at least one holistic child development subspecialty (e.g., health, education, spiritual formation).
  • Strong understanding of the Ugandan context and community development approaches.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in English and at least one local Ugandan language is an advantage.
