Program Officer - Health and Nutrition Job in Kampala, Uganda | World Vision

World Vision International Uganda is seeking a dedicated and experienced Program Officer for Health and Nutrition to join our team in Kampala. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to meaningful community health programmes that improve the lives of children and families across Uganda.

About the Role:
As a Program Officer, you will play a critical role in supporting the implementation and coordination of our health and nutrition initiatives. You will work closely with local health facilities, district health teams, and community groups to ensure our programmes deliver maximum impact.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the planning, implementation, and monitoring of health and nutrition programmes in designated areas.
• Coordinate effectively with local government health facilities and other partners to align activities and resources.
• Conduct regular field visits to monitor programme activities, collect data, and ensure compliance with national health standards and donor requirements.
• Prepare timely activity reports and contribute to programme documentation and success stories.
• Provide technical support and capacity building to community health workers and partner staff.
• Participate in district-level health and nutrition coordination meetings and forums.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• A Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Nutrition, Food Science, or a closely related field from a recognised university.
• Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in health and/or nutrition programming, preferably within an NGO or development sector in Uganda.
• Strong understanding of the Ugandan public health system and key national policies.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and report-writing skills.
• Ability to ride a motorcycle with a valid riding permit is a strong advantage for field mobility.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
