Program Design, Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist Job in Kampala - Compassion International

Compassion International Uganda is hiring a skilled Program Design, Monitoring and Evaluation (DME) Specialist to join our team in Kampala. This is a key role for a professional passionate about evidence-based programming and making a measurable impact on holistic child development in Uganda.

In this role, you will provide expert guidance to ensure our child development programmes are well-designed, effectively monitored, and rigorously evaluated. You will work closely with our field office staff across Uganda to build capacity, analyse data, and ensure our interventions achieve their intended outcomes and align with global standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide subject matter expertise in the design, monitoring, and evaluation (DME) of holistic child development programmes.
• Collaborate with and build the capacity of field staff to implement robust DME systems and practices.
• Analyse programme data to assess effectiveness, measure outcomes, and inform strategic decisions.
• Develop and review reports to demonstrate programme impact and ensure accountability to stakeholders.
• Ensure all programmes are evidence-based and adhere to Compassion International's quality standards.
• Support the continuous improvement of programme quality and effectiveness across our Uganda operations.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Monitoring & Evaluation, Statistics, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field.
• Proven experience (typically 3-5 years) in programme design, monitoring, and evaluation within the NGO or development sector in Uganda.
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., SPSS, STATA, Excel).
• Excellent report writing, communication, and capacity-building skills.
• Deep understanding of the Ugandan development context and child-focused programming.
