Monitoring and Evaluation Officer Job Opportunity at PATH Uganda
PATH, a global leader in public health innovation, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer to join our team in Kampala, Uganda. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled M&E professional to contribute to impactful health programmes that improve lives across Uganda.
As an M&E Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effectiveness and accountability of our health interventions. You will work closely with the M&E Manager and programme teams to generate evidence that guides decision-making and demonstrates programme impact to donors and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive M&E plans and frameworks for various health programmes.
- Lead the collection, cleaning, analysis, and interpretation of quantitative and qualitative programme data.
- Design and maintain robust data collection tools, databases, and management systems, including experience with DHIS2.
- Conduct regular Data Quality Assessments (DQAs) to ensure the integrity and reliability of all reported data.
- Prepare high-quality, timely M&E reports, dashboards, and presentations for internal teams, donors, and key stakeholders.
- Build the capacity of project staff and partners in M&E methodologies, data use, and reporting standards.
- Support programme teams in using M&E data for learning, adaptive management, and improving programme delivery.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- A Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Public Health, Social Sciences, Demography, Economics, or a related field. A Master's degree is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in monitoring and evaluation, specifically within the health sector in Uganda (e.g., HIV/AIDS, Malaria, Maternal Health, WASH).
- Advanced proficiency in data analysis software such as SPSS, Stata, R, or advanced Excel.
- Hands-on experience with health information systems, particularly DHIS2.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- High level of integrity, attention to detail, and commitment to producing accurate work.
