Job Description

Are you a skilled Monitoring and Evaluation professional passionate about driving development impact in Western Uganda? World Vision International is seeking a dedicated Monitoring and Evaluation Officer to join our team in Mbarara. This is a rewarding opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects that transform communities.

About the Role:
As a Monitoring and Evaluation Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effectiveness and accountability of our development programmes. You will be based in Mbarara, Uganda, and will support data-driven decision-making for projects across the Western region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement robust Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) frameworks and systems for various development projects.
  • Lead data collection, analysis, and management activities, ensuring high data quality and integrity.
  • Conduct regular field assessments and monitoring visits to track project progress and impact.
  • Train and support project staff and partners on M&E tools, methodologies, and data reporting procedures.
  • Prepare comprehensive analytical reports, dashboards, and presentations for management, donors, and stakeholders.
  • Support programme teams in using M&E findings for learning and adaptive management.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of proven experience in monitoring and evaluation, preferably within the NGO or development sector in Uganda.
  • High proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., SPSS, STATA, Excel) and database management systems.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and mentor others.
  • Knowledge of local languages spoken in Western Uganda is a significant advantage.
